Jet Boating Adventure

Geared up in a rain poncho, and plastic hat, you can feel the jet boat begin to float as it is backed into the water. The captain tells everyone that it is his first time as an actual stunt driver, but we all should be ok. There is nervous laughter in the boat, but all goes quiet as the engine fires up.

I remember seeing exhaust rise up around us, only moments before the acceleration left everything behind the boat as we began speeding across the water’s surface – It was the moment I had been waiting for.

Speeding toward a cliff face, I remember thinking, “oh crap, I’m going to die.” But moments before impact the captain spun the wheel, allowing the front of the boat to almost skim the rock as the rear of the boat power slides around it.

Everyone laughs again, filled with adrenaline, the cheers begin. Then the captain begins spinning his finger in the air. This is the signal that we are about to spin. No one is prepared for what will happen next. With a roar of the engine, the jet boat goes into another power slide, but this time it is one that causes us to skim the surface into a full 360. Water pours over the sides, and washes us all as the boat comes to a resting stop.

Adrenaline surges, and we experience the true power of jet boating.

Of all the adventures that I have participated in, including skydiving and bungee jumping, this is one of the greatest. I have only given you a small taste of what these drivers can do. Every stunt imaginable is performed in these boats, and nothing is left to the imagination.

At the top of my recommendation list, jet boating offers everyone the opportunity to experience shear thrill at the hands of a stuntman. You will never question your willingness to adventure again.
